Electronic notification directly to debtors in bankruptcy
Minnillo & Jenkins received word today from the bankruptcy courts that debtors in bankruptcy can sign up to receive electronic delivery of bankruptcy court filings made by the court. This would include notices issued by the court and court orders. The program is called Debtor Electronic Bankruptcy Noticing (DeBN).
Currently, debtors in bankruptcy receive these notices by regular U.S. Mail. This service allows for delivery through email and offers a faster, more reliable delivery of these documents. Documents filed by other parties in bankruptcy cases do not qualify.
