James D. Ludwig

James D. Ludwig, General Civil Lawyer, Construction Lawyer, Insurance LawyerJim attended Virginia Tech and graduated in 1991 with a B.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering. In 1992, he moved to Cincinnati in order to attend the University of Cincinnati College of Law. After graduating in 1995, Jim began working at a local general practice firm where he cut his teeth litigating a variety of individual and insurance disputes in Hamilton, Warren, and Butler Counties. Looking for a new challenge, Jim began working for a nationally renowned commercial contractor in 2005. While there, he expanded his practice by litigating various types of construction, insurance, and employment matters throughout the country. In addition, he negotiated and enforced hundreds of contracts and helped the company maintain compliance with numerous state statutes and federal regulations. In addition to general civil litigation, Jim’s practice will focus on small business compliance, dispute resolution, and risk management. Nearly every industry which provides goods or services (including construction, manufacturing, food, alcohol, etc.) is regulated by some, or possibly several, governmental statutes or regulations. And nearly every business relationship necessary to the operation of that business is or should be governed by some type of contract. Jim has the necessary experience to navigate your business through the many challenges presented by the laws of the United States, Ohio, Kentucky and Florida, focusing on compliance with the laws specific to your industry, the employment laws which serve to protect each and every one of your employees, and the negotiation and enforcement of the contracts which govern your relationships with your customers, contractors, vendors, and suppliers. If a dispute arises, Jim will work diligently to resolve your claim by whatever means necessary. By way of example, in addition to handling hundreds of matters here in Ohio and Kentucky, Jim has successfully mediated employment disputes in Tennessee, arbitrated construction disputes in Georgia, and litigated insurance disputes in North Carolina. If appeals or motion practice is necessary, Jim has the written and oral skills necessary to continue effectively representing your interests.
